Spend one night in Ouarzazate at the hotel Les Jardins De Ouarzazate before driving on to see the film set studios where such movies as Ben Hur and the Gladiator were made.

Remember that driving in the wintertime, you may experience some snow and delays travelling over the Atlas Mountains.
When you arrive in Zagora you will notice the change in the landscape. There are massive boulders, contrasting with the Draa Valley where it is lush and green and full of flowers except in the heat of full summer.

July and August are very hot months and we do not advise traveling at this time as temperatures can exceed 40 degrees.
However, for those suffering from rheumatics, high temperatures can be very beneficial.
Many people use the hot sand as a therapeutic way to ease aches and pains in their joints.
Riad Marrat is fully equipped with heating to manage those colder months. Air conditioning and a refreshing swimming pool assist you to cope with those hotter days.
